Future Building Plans I Hospital Services Brochure
Warmer weather appears to have finally arrived in northern Colorado. It is time to dust off the gear and get your horses in shape for the spring and summer riding and show seasons. Just like us, horses appear to be more prone to musculoskeletal injuries when they are not properly fit, so don’t push them too hard at first. If muscle injuries or lameness problems occur, remember that we have several veterinarians at the hospital that specialize in lameness conditions in horses. We also have a very qualified farrier that is at the hospital 3 days a week to help with foot and shoeing concerns, and we encourage you to bring your own farrier if you so chose, as we are happy to work closely with them to help keep your horse sound. In addition, we offer complimentary medicine services such as acupuncture, massage, manual therapy, etc. that can help your horse get through those early season aches and pains. Just contact our reception desk at 970-297-4471 to make an appointment for us to evaluate and treat your horse.
Construction of the new pathology and diagnostic building is still on-going just north of the hospital. Once completed, this building will free up space in our main hospital for expansion, which is definitely needed. I am also happy to report that re-padding of our recovery and anesthesia induction stalls was completed just last week. This completes the construction projects that will take place within the equine hospital enabling us to return to normal function for the busier spring and summer months.
Our equine field service price list for group rates to boarding facilities with multiple horses is available on this website and I hope that you will take advantage of this service. In addition, call charges will be split depending on the number of horses evaluated at each call further aiding owners at boarding facilities. Please contact our equine field service veterinarians (Drs. Connally, Davidson and Purcell) to learn more about this opportunity, or call our front desk at 970-297-4472.
If you have any questions about the services we provide, how to make an appointment to have your horse evaluated, or how to contact a particular faculty member, please feel free to contact me directly. Please remember that we are not just a referral hospital and anyone can bring their horse to our facility. In addition, you will also no longer need to wait in line at the business office to pay your bill as our front desk receptionists will take care of you from start to finish. This will hopefully streamline the process and provide you with more consistent and timely service during your visit. Just contact our reception desk at 970-297-4471 to make an appointment. Thank you and we hope to see you soon.
